Happy Happy Award

I am usually very punctual. I get stuff done on time, don't miss appointments, I get home when I say I will. But when I'm late, I'm really late. I like to be extreme :P.

Anyways, way back ages ago, towards the beginning of February the lovely Fashion Court gave me the Happy 101 award.

When given the award, the recipient must list ten things that make them happy and pass the award on to ten other bloggers.

So, ten things that make me happy:
1. Two words: March Break.
2. Haircut tomorrow. I'm sort of considering something dramatic.
3. I have cream cheese. That may seem strange, but it means I can make cream cheese icing tomorrow.
4. I spent all day watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which pretty much equates to a day well spent.
5. I'm looking at the glow in the dark fish painting on the wall. It's pretty awesome.
6. Um, wood stoves make my feet warm :)
7. Life is good :)
8. I have a smiley addiction. But spreading happiness is a good thing!
9. My train of thought isn't so much of a train as a web.
10. I have now spun around so many times (in my own brain) that I have reached a state of extreme confusion. I quite like it.

I would love to pass this award on to:
Austere
Deep in Vogue
Fashion Handglide
Frock around the Clock
Lisa's Likes
Lovely Lor
Emily
Willow and Daria
Becky

My Idol: Buffy

I've said this before, and I will probably say it again. My second favourite* tv show of all time is Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I love pretty much every aspect of the show, but Buffy's clothing is especially amazing.

She wears a lot of miniskirts/dresses, usually with tall, chunky heeled boots. Did I mention that she spends a good part of her time beating up vampires, climbing out her second floor window, and jumping fences? While making amazingly witty remarks? I can only hope that someday I will be as badass as she is.

This picture is season two, but I think it's a pretty good example of a "typical" Buffy outfit. It's also a great example of Buffy's accessorizing skills. She knows that a tall, dark, brooding vampire boyfriend in a leather jacket goes with everything!

Cordelia (the brunette), has pretty amazing style too. She wears a lot of lime green in season one, and a leopard print mini skirt? I need one!

This picture, from the season one season finale, is probably one of my favourite Buffy outfits EVER. White prom dress, check. Mysterious vampire boyfriend's leather jacket, check. Crossbow, check.

*Firefly is a hands down first, even though there are only thirteen episodes, and Bones is a close third. Funny fact: Joss Whedon is the creator of the first two, and David Boreanaz stars in the second two.

I wish I had a school uniform

I have never had a school uniform. Sure, there have been dress codes (I still don't get why leggings and a tunic top weren't accepted at my middle school), but never an actual uniform. To tell the truth, I kinda wish I had one.

I wish I had a uniform...

I know I would probably hate it within a month, if not a week, but I think it would make getting dressed more interesting, but also easier. I know that most schools that have a uniform probably don't let you wear stilettos or fishnets, but it's fun to imagine.

Did any of you have a uniform? What did you think of it?

What I Wore: Silly Shovelling

This week, I am on March Break. And when you are Rosie, March Break means sleeping in late, reading by the fire, occasionally getting up to make my siblings soya dogs, and wearing a lot of knit sweaters.

Sweater, knit by my mummy; jeans, Old Navy; scarf, a gift; hat, Gap; mittens, knit by my mummy.

Today it snowed, and since I am a kind and helpful daughter (who would like her stupid new bedtime removed) I went out to shovel the driveway.

Shovelling isn't fun if you don't wear as many knits as possible, with gigantic winter boots.

And you obviously have to take lots and lots of photos, to reinforce in the elderly neighbours minds that you are completely crazy.

After my last post, where I was wearing wedge sandals and a dress out in the snow, a lot of you commented that I must have been cold. I'll admit that I wasn't exactly warm, but it was around 0 degrees Celsius (32 degrees Fahrenheit), with practically no wind, and I was only out for about five minutes. So, slightly chilly feet, but nothing my down filled slippers couldn't fix in a few minutes.

Stargazing Star

I bought this dress yesterday, and as soon as I got it home and hung it up I realized just how much I love it.

It feels oh so glamourous, so I decided to wear it with a faux pearly necklace, and wedge sandals. My foot wear of choice would have been my black t-strap heels, but walking in the snow in those would have been difficult.

I didn't manage to get out to take pictures until after supper, but then once I got "dressed up" I felt a bit like a movie star.

And what's better than a star looking at the stars? So I got out some binoculars and took some pictures.
